Chain link carriage bolts are used to secure an assortment of fence fittings to posts. They are hot-dipped galvanized coated. They will not rust like the shiny zinc-coated type. The typical bolt will rust in a year or two and freeze the nut to the bolt. These bolts will last for years. They are a soft steel, so they are not suitable for high stress connections. They are suitable for chain link fence applications.
